UNLOC Team Meets for Creativity@Home Workshop

The full UNLOC team met together for the first time this week to take part in a 2-day creative problem solving workshop.

UNLOC Researchers at the Creativity@Home workshopWith recruitment for UNLOC now complete, the whole team of over 30 researchers met together on 28-29 April for two days of creative thinking and idea generation. Facilitators from KnowInnovation worked with the team on a variety of exercises to enable them to think about their research in new ways: the team looked at the opportunies for UNLOC over the next three years of the project, as well as ahead to potential longer-term impacts.

PhD students and research fellows worked together to develop collaborative project ideas which will be fine-tuned over the coming weeks, strengthening the links between the Aston and UCL groups and making the most of the facilities and expertise at both universities.

The team will next come together at a meeting of the UNLOC External Advisory Board at Aston University on 20th May, with students and research fellows meeting beforehand to continue the work on their project ideas.

Creativity@Home is an EPSRC initiative to encourage creative thinking amongst research groups with critical mass funding.
